Understanding data

Many organizations currently handle their data in a particularly labor-intensive manner. While understanding the data the organization is working with is of great value, a concrete approach to achieving this goal is lacking. With the right approach, organizations can respond faster to market developments, customer requests or changes in regulations.

Organizations cannot avoid data. PNA offers an approach to map all knowledge about the data that plays a role within your organization. After all, in order to use the available data correctly and to implement unavoidable changes efficiently, insight into the data structure is required. As PNA, we go one step further, because in addition to the data structure, we also record the link with processes, rules and semantics. What emerges is, so to speak, a “construction drawing” of the *(data within the) organization.

Understanding data?

It is said often enough, “data is the new gold!” But then we need to know where that gold is. Because honestly. If you are asked right now “what data is needed for report ABC?” can this question be answered immediately or does a lot of searching have to be done?

Also, why processes, rules and semantics?

Data by itself is interesting, but doesn’t say much. Is it data that we produce ourselves? How should this data be interpreted? How is there In the context of processes, business rules and terms, we only see what data originates where, where it is used, what rules this data must comply with and what meaning may be attached to it.

What does that look like?

It depends on the desire from the organization and what the knowledge is needed for, of course. If the desire is to develop a new application based on the established Knowledge Model, then we can create a prototype. If a change needs to be made, then we make an impact analysis based on the data model.
The knowledge from the Knowledge Model can be made available at any time in the form desired by the organization.

What are we going to see from that?

It is said often enough, “data is the new gold!” But then we need to know where that gold is. Because honestly. If you are asked right now “what data is needed for report ABC?” can this question be answered immediately or does a lot of searching have to be done?

Who are needed for that?

We can provide all the manpower for this, but without access to subject matter experts from your organization, we cannot move forward…. So we are always looking for the “SME” (Subject Matter Expert) for each topic.
In addition, we like to ensure that the organization does not become dependent on our efforts, so during or after the substantive work on the model, we will also provide training for those who will maintain the Knowledge Model after we leave.

What does it take to conduct a law analysis?

To capture, manage and view the Knowledge Model, we have the iKnow Suite at our disposal, a combination of various modules to capture and integrate all types of knowledge within the organization. To really get started, we also have the available documentation, examples and

Data is customization. That’s why all the projects we do for clients in that area are. In recent years we have assisted many organizations to gain and maintain insight into their data. With a combination of our approach, supporting tooling, experienced colleagues and training, we relieve organizations in the field of data management.
